As the new century dawned, Digalog was evolving away from proprietary general-purpose test systems and toward custom turnkey systems and applications for individual customers. We found that specifying the right enclosures for these projects was far from a trivial task. The market was full of generic enclosures, but none that met our exacting requirements including an internal sub-plate for added strength and heavy component mounting.
So we designed our own. And the first examples were born of what would become ProtoBox, a line of robust and versatile industrial-quality rack-mount aluminum enclosures aimed at demanding applications in test and measurement engineering. Now, your own projects can benefit from the ProtoBox advantage.
Water jet-cut and silkscreened ProtoBox size availability
ProtoBoxes fit standard 19” racks, in heights ranging from 2U to 6U (1U = 1.75”) and depths from 3” to 18”. An important feature for electronic applications is that when fully assembled, each ProtoBox maintains full electrical continuity among front, rear, top, bottom and side panels and the internal sub-plate, as well as bare-metal continuity to the mounting rack. This ensures positive grounding and optimum shielding performance for EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) purposes.
Have it your way!
You can order ProtoBoxes in single or multiple quantities, unmodified or with silk-screened markings and water jet-cut openings to your specification.
